DARE cookies!

A friend gave me a small pack of maple cookies last week. As is now habit, I read the label, which was refreshingly easy since the cookies were imported from Canada and everything was in English. At the bottom of the ingredient list was the following quote: "Baked in a nut free/peanut free facility", followed by a list of allergens in the cookies (milk, soy and wheat). It was wonderful to see something so clear, not to frown over Japanese characters, to see not only a clear list of allergens, but a declaration that the cookies are peanut safe! Yay Dare cookies! Yay Canadian labeling! I went to the import store and bought two big packages. Nearing his second birthday, my sweet boy has finally had his first non-baby, non-homemade cookie. And he loved it :)
